A few weeks ago, Thomas Hugues and Sidonie Bonnec, as well as the team from the programme "La Curiosité est un vilain défaut" (Curiosity is a bad habit) that airs on RTL, put together a show about “Every day voices”.
Knowing that I work for RTL and that I am a voice over artist, they asked if I might help prepare the show and then take part in it as well, an offer I was delighted to accept.
I explained to them that the voices we hear every day are artistic voices, voices which are very carefully selected by the agencies, producers and the final clients.
Whether it be for voice mail messages, ads, train station announcements, SATNAV voices, television trailers, film dubbings, radio jingles etc.
These voice over artists (as opposed to “voice in”) are not doing anything haphazardly. They are there to provide exactly what the art director needs.
