"Halloween Ends" is a project that brought back many memories. When the first movie of the saga was released in theaters, my parents had forbidden me to go see it, claiming that I was not old enough, but the movie was only forbidden to children under 12! I could have had a nightmare for weeks, thanks to them.
I must say that the movie poster, with the echo of the movement of a knife revealing a pumpkin mask, had intrigued me a lot. In addition, the mention "Grand prix de la critique - festival d'Avoriaz 79" - a renowned festival of fantasy films - was very catchy. In 1979, the film was released in France with a "French" title: "Night of the Masks", Halloween being relegated to the status of a subtitle; a very common method at that time: Jaws became "Jaws", Dawn of the Dead by George Romero, released the same year in the United States, was called "Zombie, the Twilight of the Living Dead", The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (in 1974) became "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Are you kidding? In Quebec it was called "Saw Massacre"!
But let's get back to HALLOWEEN, the story of the series focuses on the character of Michael Myers, a psychopathic killer committing his murders during the night of Halloween. He was a very precocious kid, since he began his misdeeds at the age of 6 by murdering his sister with a knife. Anyway, HALLOWEEN ENDS is the thirteenth movie of the series and... the last one? Sorry, but I don't believe Michael Myers...
